From Kathmandu city or the airport, you pass some of the oldest settlements like Bhaktapur on the highway towards Dhulikel. Phulbari is about 45 km. away but the ride can take up to 90 minutes depending on traffic and partly due to road works and rough country road uphill. Sometimes rain may cause landslide in spots and this might entail walking to the farm with help from the farm staff carrying your luggage.
